Álvarez Riveira is a company that was founded in the early 1990s with the vision of becoming a benchmark in the nautical sector. Our headquarters is located in Ribeira, in the heart of the Rías Baixas in Galicia, and we have a branch in A Coruña, as well as a strong online store that offers a wide variety of nautical accessories for Solé Diesel and Cummins engines.
The company was founded by José Antonio Álvarez Areces, who comes from a family of professionals in industrial mechanics. With extensive experience in well-known brands such as Renault Trucks and Barreiros, José Antonio saw the opportunity to meet the growing demand of the fishing maritime sector in the area, particularly regarding boat engines. Thus, he signed the distribution for the Cummins brand in the A Coruña area, which was then relatively unknown.
Although the beginnings were challenging, the professionalism of our team and the quality of our work and materials allowed us to gain a place in the competitive professional nautical market. The combination of technical knowledge and dedication to customer service was key to our growth and consolidation in the sector.
In 2016, Álvarez Riveira expanded its catalogue by acquiring the distribution of the Solé Diesel brand in the area, thus offering an even wider range of marine engines and generators. This expansion allowed us to strengthen our position in the market and better meet the needs of our customers.
Today, Álvarez Riveira is a benchmark in the marine and industrial engine sector, both in the region and internationally. Our online nautical shop and our facilities of over 4,000 square metres in Ribeira, along with our delegation at the Port of A Coruña, allow us to offer a comprehensive and quality service.
